Negotiation Dynamics (ND)

Negotiation Dynamics - course information

Develop Your Own Personal Negotiation Style:
This 3 day course covers a number of topics to build and enhance negotiation power. Participants participate in a series of hands-on simulations set in both domestic and international situations. Starting from simple two party encounters, participants build and are taken through the stages of multiparty negotiation scenarios. The exercises emphasize the psychological aspects of bargaining, value creation and distribution, coalition dynamics, and intra-team negotiation, while focusing on organised preparation and process analysis.

Programme Overview

The ND programme claims to help executives build and understand the following:

  • Understanding your own psychological biases
  • Create value and execute agreements that others might overlook
  • The strategic skill to gain your fair share of what is being negotiated
  • Understand your own ethics and style, and those of others
  • The ability to work with people whose values, expectations and backgrounds differ from yours
  • The ability to analyze negotiations at a more sophisticated level
  • Practice your negotiations skills while receiving direct feedback from peers and faculty
  • Learn from your experience and the experience of others

Participants

Their course was designed for executives who have at least 8-10 years of management experience and have conducted and supervised business negotiations, although prior training in negotiation skills is not essential. Negotiation Dynamics will be of particular interest to executives involved in mergers, acquisitions, joint venture negotiations, procurement handling, human resource managers, entrepreneurs, managers involved in liaison roles, key account managers, barristers and solicitors.
