Seattle’s Attractions

Few cities can boast the number or quality of outdoor parks like Seattle. Perhaps the finest view of the city is from Kerry Park, where you can see downtown, the bay, and the mountains. From there you can head towards the city’s signature Space Needle tower where you’ll find the Chihuly Garden and Glass. Here you’ll discover the wonderful glass-blown works of local artist David Chihuly. Head over to the Puget Sound shores to explore Discovery Park, at 550 acres, Seattle’s largest. In addition to the beaches, you can check out the environmental learning center and West Point Lighthouse.

Being a major port, a visit to Seattle should include some water-based activities. While at Puget Sound, consider boarding a Washington State ferry for a quintessential Seattle experience. When you return to the city you could head down to the Ballard Locks to see how vessels are moved through the ‘boat elevator’ between the saltwater Puget Sound and freshwater lakes. Consider heading over to the Waterfront to mosey along the harbor front. Step out on one of the many piers for a scenic photo, try the fish and chips at one of the tasty restaurants, or even hop on the 165-foot Seattle Great Wheel for some truly stunning views of the city and the Olympic Mountains to the west.
