Phoenix's Attractions

As a sport and recreation hub, you’ll find that Phoenix will keep you busy. Many baseball teams call the city home during spring training thanks to the city being named America’s sunniest metropolis. If you’re here in summer, stop by Chase Field to catch a Diamondbacks (baseball) game. As one of the few cities in the USA to have teams in all four major sports leagues, you’ll also be able to see professional football (Cardinals), basketball (Suns), and hockey (Coyotes), as well as two NASCAR races each year. Outdoor recreation lovers have hundreds of miles of trails to choose from, with the central Camelback Mountain being the most popular.

Culture lovers are spoiled in Phoenix as well. If you’re the museum type, check out the Renaissance and Baroque art at the Phoenix Art Museum, native history at the Heard Museum, and the world’s largest collection of musical instruments at the Musical Instrument Museum. The beautiful Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix South Mountain Park is a must-see, while a great place to wind down with the locals is in Heritage Square, Phoenix’s original townsite. For a traditional Southwest experience, see if the Arizona State Fair or rodeo is in town, or head 225 miles north to catch the sunrise at the Grand Canyon.
